May & June 2025 Collaborator: Women and Children

Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Sisterhouse

Oak Park, IL

Sisterhouse is a shelter and supportive living program for homeless women recovering from substance abuse, addiction, and mental health issues. Sisterhouse allows women to stay at their shelter for up to 18 months in order to change their lives permanently and become self-sufficient. The agency also has an annex apartment that can house two additional women who have completed the program and are working full time but need a little more time with Sisterhouse before going out on their own.

For it is in giving that we receive.
