The Wheaton Franciscans are the United States Region of an international congregation, the Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (FCJM).
The Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary also have communities located in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Indonesia, and Brazil and serve in missions located in Malawi, East Timor, and Romania. The international congregational offices are based in Rome, Italy.
Our international congregation is led by our General Directress and the General Council. The General Directress and her Council are responsible for promoting unity in the Congregation, deepening Franciscan spirituality, and fostering the charism of our foundress. The General Directress also represents the Congregation before Church and civil authorities.
