Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Lighthouse Foundation

Lighthouse Foundation assists detainees post-release from the Kane County Jail and provides the tools they need to reenter the community in a positive way. The need they are addressing is the overall lack of community-based services for those recently released from incarceration and those lacking the financial means to seek treatment. The community-based program of the Lighthouse Foundation builds on the success and growth a detainee achieves while in-custody and allows certain detainees to be released from the jail with very strict monitoring guidelines and ongoing intensive substance use treatment.
