Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

BEDS Plus Care, Inc.
La Grange, IL
For 30 years, BEDS Plus Care has served homeless people and those who have an immediate risk of homelessness throughout southwest suburban Cook County. Their Justice Involved Transitional Housing program provides low barrier transitional housing and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness with histories of justice system involvement. This vulnerable population faces steep barriers to housing, employment, and supportive services, and BEDS leases five apartment units to provide up to 24 months of transitional housing for them to stabilize. The program includes intensive, trauma informed case management; referrals to partner healthcare, behavioral healthcare, and human service providers; and assistance with replacing documentation and building income through employment and benefits programs.
