Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

CORE El Centro

CORE El Centro is a natural healing center which serves low-income families by providing services that promote self-healing and community well-being. Their Integrative Health and Wellness Program was developed in direct response to the ill-health, health disparities, and trauma experienced by marginalized populations who have limited access to healthcare. This Program provides natural healing therapies designed to integrate body, mind, and spirit in a culturally sensitive environment. Clients, health navigators and practitioners work together to address health concerns, the impact of trauma, and social determinants of health, such as immigration issues, unstable housing, job insecurity and violence that impact clients’ mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.
