December 2023 Collaborator: Refugees & Immigrants

Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

The Madonna Scholars Program of the Madonna Foundation is a dynamic initiative whose objective is to promote empowerment, academic achievement, and a path to college for at-risk and underserved girls from low-income families in the Chicago area through scholarship support, college readiness and leadership programming. It is the only program of its kind in the region focusing exclusively on serving girls from disadvantaged backgrounds.  By empowering them and investing in their education and futures, Madonna scholars can achieve what they may never have thought possible, becoming the next generation of accomplished and compassionate professional women poised to make a difference in their communities and beyond. The program accepts those of all faiths who demonstrate the potential for success and meet our financial eligibility criteria.

For it is in giving that we receive.
