Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Gachuba Gacodep Self Help Group
Integrated Chicken and Fish Project
Kenya, Africa
The Gachuba Gacodep Self Help Group (GACODEP) is a group of 40 connected poor families of different denominations from the rural counties in Kenya. It works to improve the livelihood of the 80 men and women and over 200 children in that area. Their Integrated Chicken-Fish Project uses small space and gives double production. By feeding the chickens in the structures on top of the ponds, the fish feed on the chicken dropping as their food, cutting costs greatly. When chickens are ready for sale, fish are also ready at the same time giving double profits.
