Honoring Sister Alice Drewek’s 65th Jubilee
For 65 years, Sister Alice has lived her Franciscan vocation with warmth, hospitality, and wholehearted dedication. Drawn to the Wheaton Franciscans by the joy and genuine spirit she encountered in the sisters she met, she entered the Community in 1961 and professed final vows in 1969.
Over the years, she has faithfully served in many ministries including education, administration, governance, pastoral outreach, and eco-justice work, always bringing compassion and a welcoming presence to those around her.
“I love to travel, so I enjoyed my governance work with WFSI and my time on the General Council.”
Sister Alice especially valued her years with Wheaton Franciscan Services and later as a member of the General Council in Rome, where she combined her love of travel with service to the congregation and its mission. Her ministry also included work with the White Violet Center for Eco-Justice and the Eco-Justice Center, experiences that deepened her connection to creation and contemplative living.
Now celebrating her 65th Jubilee, Sister Alice continues to serve the wider community as a newly elected member of the Regional Leadership Team. Known for her kindness, generosity, and hospitality, she hopes to be remembered as “a heart-warming, whole-hearted, good-hearted and hospitable person” — a reflection of the spirit she has shared throughout her life and ministry.

Sr. Alice – We are so excited to celebrate this incredible milestone with you. Your service as a Sister has had a profound and far-reaching impact touching the health and well-being of our communities, advancing the cause of eco-justice, and reflecting the enduring mission of the Catholic Church.

Congratulations, Sr. Alice. 65 years of religious life. Amazing! It’s been almost 20 years since I left my position at OLA. I remember those years with such love and joy. I will never work in another place again where God is so present and I feel so at peace going to work. I especially remember your kindness when my mom passed. You braved the snow to come to her wake to pray the rosary with us. All my love to you and all the Wheaton Franciscans. Blessings on your Jubilee.
