Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

New Mom’s Inc
Oak Park, IL
New Moms has been serving young mothers (ages 24 and under) and their children for over 38 years. The majority of families they serve experience extreme poverty, housing instability, and significant barriers such as interrupted education and trauma histories. The organization provides transitional and permanent supportive housing in Chicago and Oak Park, along with educational and job-training programs. Through its social enterprise, a candle-making business, New Moms also offers employment opportunities that support long-term self-sufficiency.
