January & February 2026 Collaborator: Other Purposes

Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

St. Jules Clinic and Mary Maternity Center

Haiti

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and faces some of the worst water quality conditions in the world. Since 1994, the Immaculate Conception (Clarksville, TN) / St. Jules (Haiti) Ministry has operated a primary care clinic in the remote village of Petit Bourg du Borgne in northwest Haiti. In response to frequent obstetrical emergencies, the Ministry established the Mary Maternity Center adjacent to the clinic. Together, the OB/GYN and primary care clinic—staffed by the only obstetrician/gynecologist in the region—serves 50–60 patients daily, delivers 3–4 babies each day, and provides cesarean section services when needed. St. Jules Clinic and the Mary Maternity Center serve approximately 65,000 patients annually.
