Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

DeKalb County Community Gardens (DCCG)
DeKalb, IL
DeKalb County Community Gardens (DCCG) works to reduce food insecurity in DeKalb County, Illinois, by increasing access to healthy, sustainable food and empowering residents through education and community participation. The organization serves nearly 20,000 food-insecure children, youth, and adults across the county. DCCG operates multiple garden sites, including more than 200 raised beds and several large-acre plots, and has produced nearly ten tons of fresh food. This produce is distributed to local food pantries, schools, child care centers, senior centers, housing units, community meal sites, and the Meals on Wheels program.
