Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Friends In Solidarity
South Sudan
Friends in Solidarity is the US partner to Solidarity with South Sudan. Solidarity with South Sudan helps rebuilding the Church in the war-torn country of South Sudan (Africa) through capacity building initiatives that include the training of teachers, health care professionals and pastoral teams. One of the collaborative ministries of the Solidarity of South Sudan is the Catholic Health Training Institute (CHTI) in War, South Sudan. This Institute trains health care professionals, especially nurses and midwives, and provides them with full scholarships (including room and board). Since 2013, the CHTI has graduated 181 registered nurses and 87 midwives. Nearly 85% are employed in the health care sector in the South Sudan.
