We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. Pastoral Migratoria / Immigrant Leadership Ministry
Archdiocese of Chicago
Chicago, IL
The Immigration Ministry is a fiscal agency of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Since 2008 it has developed the Pastoral Migratoria (PM)—Immigrant to Immigrant Ministry Program which provides in-depth formation, leadership, and training/mentoring of immigrant lay leaders in parishes. The program is working to expand Hispanic ministries in dioceses both in Chicago and elsewhere. Currently, the program engages 350 Hispanic and Polish lay leaders in 63 immigrant parishes across 4 U.S. dioceses (New York, Stockton, Kansas City-St. Joseph, and Chicago) on civic issues facing their communities, such as immigration, labor, education, housing, etc.
