Happy New Year!
We are writing with an update related to the ongoing reality of the coronavirus pandemic. Although this new year brings us some hopeful signs, the current reality remains a challenge. The pandemic continues to surge locally, nationally, and around the globe.
The safety of our sisters in residence and essential staff continues to be our primary concern. We also know that we are part of a larger community and want to do our part to reduce opportunities for the virus to spread, not only to protect our campus, but to protect those we serve. We choose to take our call to be a blessing in the heart of the world seriously. We honor this call locally and globally when we seek ways to help mitigate the impact of the virus by reducing exposure.
In July, we announced, “Our Lady of the Angels Motherhouse, Province Administration, Chapel, and Tau Center will remain closed to the public until further notice.” Our Motherhouse, Province Administration, Chapel, and Tau Center will remain closed until Illinois reaches Phase V of the Restore Illinois COVID-19 response plan. This includes vaccinations widely distributed and no new cases over a sustained period.
We miss you and we miss our gatherings. We look forward to the day we can be together again. Until that time, we encourage you to actively engage with us through our public offerings such as the monthly sessions based on the Pope’s encyclical, Fratelli Tutti, or the Exploring the Franciscan Way of Life online program, both beginning in January 2021.

Please continue to hold us in prayer as we continue to hold you in prayer. Know that you are always on our minds and in our hearts.
Together in spirit may we continue to be a Blessing in the Heart of the World.
