Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

DeKalb County Community Gardens (DCCG)
DeKalb, IL
DeKalb County Community Gardens (DCCG) works to reduce food insecurity in DeKalb County, Illinois, by increasing access to fresh, healthy food while promoting sustainable gardening practices and community engagement. The organization serves nearly 20,000 food-insecure children, youth, and adults each year. DCCG maintains multiple garden sites, including more than 200 raised garden beds and several large-acre growing areas, producing nearly ten tons of fresh fruits and vegetables annually. The harvest is distributed through local food pantries, schools, child care centers, senior centers, affordable housing communities, community meal programs, and Meals on Wheels.
