Weavings is a monthly reflection that is the collective effort of the Wheaton Franciscan Covenant Companions and Sisters to provide spiritual nourishment that helps us feel God’s presence in daily living and invite an openness to God.
LOOKING UP
by Sister Georgene L. Wilson, OSF, D. Min.
Sages of the ages of both seas and deserts
See lights of direction
When they look up.
Shepherds of then and now
See messengers of good news
When they look up.

Folks stuck in the mud of life’s journey
Dare to look up
And behold promise and hope.
Our planet’s people
Need this spiritual practice of looking up
Into the best of each other.
May we grant each other freedom
From our prisons of expecting the worst
And dance in circles
With our diverse bests.

Thank you. For looking up. For writing. For being.
Sincerely,
Mehret
