Jan & Feb 2025 Collaborator: Care of Creation

Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Wiraqocha Foundation for the Preservation of Indigenous Wisdom

High Andes of Peru

The goal of the Wiraqocha Foundation since its inception in 1996 is to help Q’ero people maintain the occupation of their ancestral homeland in the high Andes of Peru. The Foundation provides services which are currently not available to the Q’ero to sustain their agricultural lifestyle and rich Inka cultural heritage that they have been living for the past 1000 years. The Foundation carries out its mission by teaching the values of the Q’ero people through books and seminars in person and online. It also supports the cultural exchanges between the Q’ero and other Indigenous populations across the world.

For it is in giving that we receive.

St. Francis of Assisi
