Covenant Companion Picnic 2024
On August 24, 2024, Sisters and Covenant Companions (CCs) enjoyed a cookout to wrap up the summer season. The hot weather kept the fun mostly indoors, but everyone appreciated the lively conversations and delicious food.
CC Mary Ellen Durbin opened the day with a prayer written by CC Vickie Wojciechowski (see below), followed by the group singing Canticle of the Sun by Marty Haugen. Then laughter, stories, and a potluck lunch ensued.

Gracious and Loving God,
We offer our praise and gratitude to you as we
celebrate this beautiful day of joyful gathering.
You nourish our spirits, blessing us
with companions on the journey!
Our bodies are nourished by the fruitful gifts
of the earth that you have provided for us.
May we honor these many blessings as we too become
a blessing to one another in our sharing, through
conversation, food, and the joy of this beautiful day.
Watch over those who are unable to be with us today
and give them a day of comfort and peace,
knowing they are loved and missed
in this time together.
May today’s joyful gathering rise up to the heavens
with Alleluias as we part at the end of the day.
