January 2024 Collaborator: Refugees & Immigrants

Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Dominican University / Ministry en lo Cotidiano (MLC) Program

River Forest, IL

Dominican is a premier Catholic university that ranks among the top master’s-level universities in the Midwest. In its newest category, “Social Mobility,” U.S. News & World Report recognized Dominican’s success in enrolling and graduating large proportions of economically disadvantaged students, placing the school first out of more than 160 regional universities in the Midwest. The University has developed the program Ministry en lo Cotidiano which means ministry “in the everyday.” MLC is a leadership development and faith formation fellowship for undergraduate students interested in experiencing faith-based service in Latine communities in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. The purpose of MLC is to develop leaders for the future of the Church and Latine communities.

For it is in giving that we receive.
