November 2023 Collaborator: Care of Creation

Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

Hungry World Farm

Tiskilwa, IL

Hungry World Farm (HWF) is a charitable, scientific/environmental, religious, and educational organization. It grows food that nourishes people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, and religious persuasions. The ministry donates 10% of the produce they raise per year to local food pantries that serve people who are unable to meet their basic food needs. They also re-distribute a portion of their gifts and income toward global food relief and development work. Additionally, Hungry World Farm offers educational programs and activities which provide practical farmwork experiences for neighbors in Bureau County, Illinois, and around the world.

For it is in giving that we receive.
