Through prayer, relationship-building and sharing of resources, the Wheaton Franciscans collaborate with organizations whose mission and priorities are similar to ours. We focus primarily on the following areas: care of creation; health and dental in underserved areas; refugees and immigrants; women and children in vulnerable situations; and other purposes that align with our values. We are currently connected to nearly 100 organizations.

DuPage Legal Aid
Wheaton, IL
DuPage Legal Aid Foundation (DLAF) provides free legal assistance to the less fortunate residents of DuPage County primarily in the areas of domestic violence and family law. DLA assists individuals of all races, genders, religious and/or ethnic origins, regardless of immigration status, provided their income falls within 175% of the Federal Poverty Guideline; 250% for victims of domestic violence, the elderly, and/or the disabled. It is important to note that DLA never denies a “qualified” applicant due to a lack of attorney resources thanks to the DuPage County Bar Association members who have agreed to take at least one pro bono case each year. Because they do not accept Federal or State funding, DLA is the only agency in DuPage County who represents undocumented clients in family law matters.
