The Wheaton Franciscans are the United States Region of an international congregation, the Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary (FCJM). A region of the Congregation is a community that lives in a specific country or area. The Region has its own statutes and the autonomy to discern direction and leadership, which the General Council of the international council affirms.
The Wheaton Franciscan Regional Assembly serves as a place of discernment and decision-making regarding the future of the Community, including setting direction and identifying leaders who will provide inspiration, support, and guidance focused on engaging all Wheaton Franciscans in fostering its life, mission, and charism through the ongoing evolution of the St. Clare Regional Community.
The Wheaton Franciscans are currently in the formal period of Pre-Assembly. It is a particular time of input, reading, reflection, and dialogue in preparation for the Regional Assembly, which will take place Wednesday, September 20 through Sunday, September 24.
