It is time for our nation to get serious about turning away from dependence on fossil fuels and towards renewable, clean energy. It makes no sense for the US to continue to approve new offshore oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, which threatens the waters and coastal communities of the gulf, as well as contributing to greenhouse gas emissions.
