From Sr. Bea, JPIC:
Although the date of this meeting is already past, I share this with you just to let you know that advocacy efforts can make a difference. Past advocacy work is what made this meeting possible. As the meeting at the UN of the States Parties to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty winds down its meeting, some significant progress is being made toward moving all states that presently possess nuclear weapons to agree to sign on to a “no first use” policy. Learn more about the conference.
Although this seems like a very small step, it is the first time that nuclear nations have been willing to seriously consider adoption of this policy. Please continue to pray and work for a world free of all nuclear weapons. May all leaders realize that “a nuclear war is not winnable and must never be fought.” Listen to the whole conference —it lasts a little over 1 ½ hours.
