Stemming from humble origins in Germany, the Franciscan Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, came to the United States in 1872 and continue to celebrate a history rich in responding to the needs of a constantly changing society.
We are a community of vowed sisters, and covenant companions called to live the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi and our foundress Mother M. Clara Pfaender. We are a welcoming community collaborating with others to be a blessing in the world. Wherever you are on your life journey, you are welcome here.
