Honoring The Wheaton Franciscans

The Wheaton Franciscans were recognized and honored for their generosity and support by two separate organizations.

On November 15th, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Joliet honored the Wheaton Franciscans with the Esteemed Partner Award. Glenn Van Cura, the Executive Director thanked the community for many decades of support. Most recently, we have supported projects that provide assistance and legal advice to undocumented immigrants. Sr. Melanie received the award on our behalf, and Sr. Glenna joined her for the event.

On November 16th, the Conservancy for Heritage and Healing presented the Wheaton Franciscans with the Founders Award. The Conservancy is a partner organization of the Reiman Cancer Center, founded by Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, now managed by Ascension Healthcare. Susan Rabe, CEO of the Conservancy presented the award and introduced a video presentation that included a lovely tribute to the Sisters and our legacy of healthcare in Wisconsin. Srs. Melanie and Glenna accepted the award on our behalf, and Sr. Dawn and other friends also enjoyed the dinner and celebration.

The awards are on display in the Piazza, and will later be placed in the Heritage Room.
