SUMMARY:Forest Therapy Walk
DESCRIPTION:St. Clare Garden Fundraiser\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOne way to open your eyes is to ask yourself: What if I had never seen this before? What if I knew I would never see it again? \nRachel Carson\n\n\n\nWe invite you to come explore the Peace Path and grounds at Our Lady of the Angels through the lens of ‘Forest Therapy.’ See the land in a new way and experience yourself held in the natural world in a deep and profound manner. As part of this nature experience\, we will gather materials to create unique Earth Mandala’s during our morning together. \n\n\n\nBy slowing down and noticing and being embodied in nature\, you will deepen your relationship with nature. Our time together is an opportunity to disconnect from technology\, pause and be at one with the natural world. \n\n\n\nHeld entirely outdoors our guide\, Jeanne Iovinelli will lead the group in a slow and deliberate walk. Experience a series of gentle invitations\, transitioning from movement to ‘sitting and noticing’ before closing with a tea ceremony. \n\n\n\nCome join us to deepen your relationship with the natural world and experience the healing benefits of Forest Therapy to raise funds for the St Clare Garden Labyrinth. \n\n\n\nONLINE REGISTRATION is required for this event\, with a suggested donation of $25 – $250 to benefit the St Clare Garden Labyrinth Project \n\n\n\n\nRegister for this Event\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA note from our guide\, Jeanne Iovinelli: My training in forest therapy has taken me to a level of connectedness to the natural world and God that I have never experienced before. My soul yearns to go outside\, slow down\, and notice the handiwork of our creator. Yes\, this all takes time. As part of self-compassion and self-care we must make time for our souls to experience the wonder of nature\, which will enrichen your life in ways you have not experienced before. You will grow spiritually\, be gentler with mother earth\, and help to restore your relationship with her. The magic and wonders of the natural world will naturally and organically lift your spirits.

SUMMARY:Contemplative Writing with Sr Glenna Czachor
DESCRIPTION:A mindful practice of meditation through the written word\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for this Event\n\n\n\n\nOnline registration one week prior is required\, with a donation of your choosing \n\n\n\nThe Lenten practice of repentance may sound familiar…but what does it really mean for us? The biblical tradition of repentance is less about paying attention to our sinfulness and more about focusing on our lives as we seek a change of mind or actions. True acts of repentance will help us think differently and turn from what we think is our path\, to what God is really calling forth for us. \n\n\n\nOne way to get in touch with new ways of thinking and being is through the practice of Contemplative Writing\, a mindfulness practice through the written word. Engaging in a practice of focused journaling using writing prompts\, Contemplative Writing can support the process of self-discovery and foster connection with your inner spirit. \n\n\n\nOther benefits: \n\n\n\n\nBoosts your confidence and calms your inner-critic\n\n\n\nOffers new perspectives on your life journey\n\n\n\nAllows for freedom and creativity\n\n\n\nRelieves stress and addresses deep-set emotions\n\n\n\n\nContemplative writing is a simple process and requires no special skills. It is a gentle process of self-reflection and soul-searching. Please come ready to pray and reflect\, to write\, and to interact with others. All materials will be provided….however\, feel free to bring your own journal. \n\n\n\n\n\nSr. Glenna Czachor\, OSF is a Wheaton Franciscan Sister with more than 25 years experience in group facilitation and retreat leadership\, specializing in contemplative prayer and worship\, scripture study\, and creative spirituality. She holds a Masters of Pastoral Studies from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago\, and is a graduate of the Hesychia School of Spiritual Direction of Tuscon\, AZ. She has studied leadership and improvisational skills with the legendary vocal artist and motivational speaker\, Bobby McFerrin.
