In this workshop we will frame aging as a spiritual practice that can help us to focus on positive aspects of aging that transcend culture\, age and time. And we’ll explore how to let go of aging-related fears\, practical guidelines and practices for choosing inner peace throughout life\, the role resilience plays in graceful aging\, creative envisioning\, redefining purpose and how to relax\, look deeply and let go in the death and dying process. \n\n\n\nThe first day of this three-part series will be held at the Tau Center\, followed by two Zoom workshops. This workshop experience will include instructor presentation\, discussion\, writing/ journaling\, and time for reflection. \n\n\n\n\n50 and beyond is a time of soul-making. People throughout the world are now living longer as part of a Divine plan – we’re being given an extra 20 – 30 years of life so that we can evolve and access deeper levels of consciousness that we can then share with the world to help others – to mentor others and become stewards and guardians of the world. \n– From Age-ing to Sage-ing by Zalman Schachter-Shalomi\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Our Presenter \n\n\n\nElizabeth Lewis is a certified grief support specialist\, grief educator\, trauma sensitive HeartMath provider\, stress resilience trainer\, spiritual counselor and motivational speaker. She is trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction\, a modality that includes therapeutic yoga. DESCRIPTION:A Time of Lenten Reflection\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRemember who you are and the dignity you bear.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“You are a dwelling place of the Most High God…You have a voice…You are a witness…You bear no shame…You are known…You are restored…You are made for contentment…You honor Christ…You can stand tall…You can pray boldly…Your presence matters…You were made for resurrection joy.”  \nColleen C. Mitchell\n\n\n\n\nRegister for this Event\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOnline registration is requested two weeks prior to the program \n\n\n\nJoin us for a time of reflection this Lent as we look at three women in the Gospel who uniquely encountered Christ: the woman caught in Adultery\, the sinful woman who anoints Jesus\, and the Syrophoenician woman. Their beautiful ancient stories hold timeless messages for us. \n\n\n\nDrawing from depictions provided in the book Who Does He Say You Are? Women Transformed by Christ\, by Colleen C. Mitchell\, we will be inspired to let the Love of God enter our lives in a new way this holy season. (Participants don’t need to read this book in order to attend.) \n\n\n\nThis program will use prayer\, contemplation\, and guided discussion to help us prepare the way for our own encounters with Christ. Mark your calendars and invite your friends! \n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional opportunity: Consider continuing your time of Lenten reflection with an afternoon silent retreat at Tau Center\, from noon to 3pm. Bring a lunch and enjoy quiet space inside and/or the beautiful grounds outside. Separate registration is required for this part. Visit: https://www.taucenter.org/retreats for more information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTammy Winn holds a graduate degree in Religious Studies. She works as a contemplative writer\, presenter\, dream work mentor\, and recording artist. Additionally\, Tammy has taught theology and directed various parish ministries. She enjoys sharing faith\, inspiration\, and creativity with others. For more information about her projects and to explore her work\, you can visit her website at TammyWinn.com.

SUMMARY:Selfcare for Personal (Family) Caregivers- Online
DESCRIPTION:Reconnecting with the Caregiver Song in Your Heart\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister for this Event\n\n\n\n\n\nSome days there won’t be a song in your heart. Sing anyway. \n\n\n\n– Emory Austin \n\n\n\n\nCare-giving for loved ones begins with a song in the heart composed of love\, compassion and purpose. A song that overtime we can find harder and harder to sing as the everyday realities of care-giving lead us into compassion fatigue\, a form of care-giver burnout manifesting in deep physical\, emotional and spiritual exhaustion. Those who have experienced compassion fatigue often describe it as being sucked into a vortex that slowly pulls them down\, eroding empathy\, compassion and positive connection for and to others – and one’s best self. \n\n\n\nIn this workshop we will explore: attitudes of over-care; how to identify personal barriers to self-care; the causes\, signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue; the importance of balancing pleasure and meaning; how to develop a self-care action plan; and easy-to-learn and do renewing practices that can help increase your confidence and ability to take positive\, effective action during times of pressure\, challenge and change. Instructor presentation\, conversation\, writing and reflection are all part of this workshop experience. \n\n\n\nOnline Registration Required by Monday February 17\, space is limited \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Our Presenter \n\n\n\nElizabeth Lewis is a certified grief support specialist\, grief educator\, trauma sensitive HeartMath provider\, stress resilience trainer\, spiritual counselor and motivational speaker. She is trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction\, a modality that includes therapeutic yoga. Elizabeth travels extensively in the United States and Italy presenting talks and workshops on a wide variety of subjects including trauma healing\, resilience-building\, forgiveness facilitation\, and healing art and writing. She is a blog writer for the grief support site\, rememberingalife.com and a wellness provider with Heal.me.
