DESCRIPTION:Stained Glass Windows as Sacred Art\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for a presentation\, “The Sacred Transmitted: Stained Glass Windows as Sacred Art” by Aaron Frei\, President of Emil Frei & Associates. Aaron holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in theology from the University of Dallas and is an expert in theology and iconography. He began working at his family’s firm at age 11 and has been involved ever since\, aside from a few years spent in a Cistercian monastery. \n\n\n\nFor those in our Online Community who would like to learn more about the history of the OLA Stained Glass windows\, we invite you to attend the presentation via live stream on our YouTube Channel at the above date and time. In addition\, there will be a link to the digital program in the video description with images and more detailed information. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEmil Frei & Associates is a liturgical design studio that specializes in custom stained glass and mosaics. Established in 1898 by Emil Frei Sr.\, the firm is renowned for its artistry. Francis Deck\, an associate of Emil Frei\, designed the stained-glass windows in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel depicting the “Magnificat.” Deck broke away from the traditional stained-glass window design by placing big splashes of magnificent colors and fine line drawings against a backdrop of predominantly neutral grays. The magnificent colors of the windows are reflected differently at different times of the day. \n\n\n\nPlease join us for this special event.

SUMMARY:A Day of Action for Creation
DESCRIPTION:Join together in community to clear invasive species from the Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus LUREC located in Woodstock\, IL. Our morning will begin with training to recognize invasive species\, followed by two sessions in the field.  \n\n\n\nThe bus will leave OLA at Entrance 5 at 7:30 a.m. and arrive at the center at 9:00 a.m. Lunch is provided followed by an afternoon session. We will depart by 3:00 p.m.\, returning to OLA by 4:30 p.m. Participants must be high school age or older. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special Coffee and… in the Auditorium after 10:30 a.m. Mass with a presentation from Jody May\, Director of Education with Exodus World Services. She will be sharing information on the services provided by Exodus World Services and Heidi’s House\, a gathering place for refugees and volunteers in Wheaton. This is an opportunity to learn different ways of serving our neighbor. \n\n\n\nThere will be coffee\, treats\, and other refreshments available to enjoy while gathering with everyone in fellowship. We hope to see you there! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease Remember \n\n\n\n\nAll participants must be fully vaccinated and boosted to the extent possible.\n\n\n\nEnter the building through Entrance #7 and exit the same way.\n\n\n\nKnow that we will continue to maintain COVID-19 protocols for the safety of our Sisters\, staff\, and visitors.
