Two Day Shift Maintenance Mechanic II positions are open. The hours for both positions are 7:00a to 3:30p. One person will work Monday through Friday and the other will work Sunday through Thursday.
Both positions report to the Project Manager. The Maintenance Mechanic II technician has responsibilities to provide services to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital located on the campus and services to the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters for their buildings/plant operations. These responsibilities include maintaining the buildings and related equipment, creating a pleasant and comfortable physical environment for Sister residents, patients, employees and visitors. Carpentry experience is required including drywall, furniture repairs, locks, construction, general repairs and other remodeling projects. Experienced in basic plumbing services including repairs/flushing water systems, etc. The Maintenance Mechanic II is able to perform basic electrical work; troubleshoot simple circuitry using voltage testers, Amp probe and volt/ohm meter and performs general preventative maintenance.
The Maintenance Mechanic II provides excellent customer service with the ability to use various types of mobile devices, e.g., iPhones, iPads, computers including communication by means of (2-way radio, e-mail, face-to-face); responds to hospital codes; tests and repairs patient’s beds; patient’s and Sister’s TVs; troubleshoots call systems, doors and closures. Provides services at Sisters’ residences as requested. Excellent written communication skills for preparing weekly work reports that provide details of tasks performed with accuracy and consistency. Must be licensed to drive company vehicles. Follows safety and departmental procedures.
