We are accepting an application for a Seasonal Horticulture crew team member.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual for seasonal landscape work to help maintain and improve our campus. At present, our campus is shared by the Wheaton Franciscan Sisters, the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sisters, and Marianjoy/Northwestern rehabilitation facility with high visibility, high impact landscapes. Our landscape maintenance staff are involved in maintaining the beauty of the 60-acre campus and gardens, including a healing garden, rain garden and extensive garden pond. Part of the campus has approximately 3.5 acres of hand planted prairies that require regular attention. We encourage our landscape staff to implement their ideas into landscape design for the campus. Landscape maintenance staff work alongside top arborist contractors in care of a large variety of plants. Exposure to top of the line equipment is provided.
The successful candidate is someone who wants to put their educational curriculum and experience to work and gain field experience in the care of native and annual plants. Reporting to and being mentored by the Supervisor, this individual will gain skills which will help them support the viability and sustainability of natural and ornamental landscape plantings in a suburban setting.
