December 1—World Aids Day December 1, 2019 marks the 31st global World AIDS Day, to raise awareness about the continued epidemic affecting over 34 million people currently living with HIV worldwide. Since the disease was first recognized in 1981, over 35 million people have died from AIDS. Stigma and discrimination continue to affect those living with HIV/AIDS in many parts of the world.  Although great advances have been made in combating the virus causing AIDS, there is still no cure. Threads – Season of Creation

 This issue of our newsletter Threads that Connect Us, focuses on the Wheaton Franciscan community's celebration of the the Season of Creation.  This year, the Wheaton Franciscans celebrated the Season of Creation from the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation (September 1) through the first Sunday in October (October 6). This issue of Threads includes photos and stories about our gratitude for God's "wonderful handiwork" and our commitment to care for all of God's creation.
